Unlike old-fashioned detectors, with these alarms there are no batteries to change! The Netatmo Smart Smoke Alarm is fitted with a 10-year battery* (based on typical use), the maximum lifespan of any smoke detector, to protect your home for years to come.
One of this product's best safety features is its self-test function: your smart smoke detector checks that its battery and sensors are working properly, and you receive an alert if a problem is detected or the battery is low. So you’ll know when it’s time to replace your smart fire alarm without having to test it yourself.

But the Smart Smoke Alarm is still a standalone product that doesn't need a home automation box or any other devices in order to work. Even if it's not connected to the Internet, the alarm still works like a conventional smoke detector, so it will continue to protect you even if the Internet goes down.
Quick and easy installation
Your Smart Smoke Alarm is a wireless smoke detector. Just screw it to the ceiling and lock it in place to turn it on. We recommend installing the app to receive alerts on your phone in case of danger. The best place for your new smart smoke detector is in a corridor. Ideally you should buy multiple alarms, installing one detector on each floor to ensure the safety of your entire house.
